R-23
R-23 is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) suited for very low temperature systems (-60 to -100°C) fitted with piston or rotary compressors.
This refrigerant is suited for use in the second stage of a cascade refrigeration system. The first level of such a system requiring R-404A or R-507 (air conditioned enclosures, freeze-drying systems).
